The Next Step in Starting a Hair Bow Business
For Serious Hair Bow Business Entrepreneurs...
Stocking Your Inventory
When you walk into a bakery to pick out a pre-made cake, though the cake is there
in its completed form, you know that many steps were taken to make the molded
piece of sugar topped with even more sugar into the creation it has become - much
like a hair bow business. Before you actually begin, you have to begin other things.
You have to get your supplies. You have two choices as to how you want to start
your hair bow business. For many stay-at-home moms, it may be appealing to know
that you can have a successful hair bow business with very little, meaning between
100 and 300$ in start-up costs. However, this option may require a little more work
on your part, but if you are like me, you are in a better position to sacrifice the time
rather than the money. So read on…. For those of you who are financially
prepared to invest a little more at start up, then you may want to skip to the next
section.
Start-Up Your Business with the Money In Your Pocketbook
Be prepared moms. This way is a little more complicated. Why? Well for obvious
reason number one- you won’t have boocoodles of ribbon to start off with, so you
may be limited to what you can do. Read to learn how I was making $1200/ month in
profit in my second month in the bow business and put in very little start-up cost.

Buying Wholesale at Start-up
My best advice is to know what you want to sell before you buy your ribbon
wholesale. When buying wholesale you can save up to 20cents per yard on your
ribbon. This is a tremendous savings. The best thing to do with wholesale ribbon
purchases is to make the basic infant/toddler bow sets and allow customers to
purchase colors of their choice. Just be sure to have plenty of colors available. I
recommend buying from the wholesale vendors advertised within www.bowbusiness.
com.
A Final Note on Stocking your Inventory
Tip: The best, most convenient way to stock up your inventory is to shop around for
the best prices, and buy it all at one time, (my preference is online). For the very first
set of bows, you should probably leave the house to pick out your ribbon, but once
you have a good idea about what colors/types of ribbon you will want to use, buying
online is so much more convenient(and sometimes you can find some really good
deals for ribbon on eBay, and other online vendors.) Buying online gives you more
time to spend on making your bows, maintaining your business, etc... because
everything comes right to your door.
